Come out and celebrate the season at one of Tallahassee’s most popular family friendly events of the year. Elf Night at Dorothy B. Oven Park
will take place next week, on Thursday, December 20th, from 5:30pm to 9pm.
Dorothy B. Oven Park is magnificent during this time of year. In late October, the park begins its annual transformation in to a winter wonderland, with holiday lights shining bright as far as the eye can see, in each and every part of the beautiful and vast park space.
Just visiting the park, shining brightly with over 250,000 lights, in the evenings during the month of December is treat enough, but during Elf Night the fun is multiplied with the additions of:
- Santa visits
- Hot chocolate & cider
- Holiday cookies
The event is free of charge. No cars will be allowed in the park that evening. Parking will be available at Thomasville Road Baptist Church just north of the park and Piedmont Park Alliance Church across the street.
The public is invited to stroll through the Oven Park house and grounds for free on Elf Night. Elf Night is a perfect opportunity for families to take time out from their hectic schedules and enjoy a unique and magical holiday evening together. Parents will want to bring cameras and camcorders to record all the smiles and wonderment on their children’s faces.
Dorothy B. Oven Park is located at 3205 Thomasville Road. Since this event is free to attend and such a special time for so many Tallahassee families, you can expect to see a large crowd of folks at Elf Night with you and traffic and parking can be a challenge. The park has plenty of space to walk and to enjoy the lights, however you should be prepared to be patient when it comes to enjoying the Elf Night extras mentioned above. Please stay close to your children this evening.Although they really don’t do it justice, here are some pictures of the beautiful Dorothy B. Oven Park, decorated for the season…
