The Frenchtown farmers market is located 524 North MLK Blvd. In partnership with the Community Redevelopment Agency, the farmers market represents a first step in plans to develop a local food business incubator on the property.

The project, led by Frenchtown Neighborhood Improvement Association, is an effort to improve opportunity for people of color, women, veterans and students. MAKE IT AT MOFA ▪︎ JUNE 22, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Help paint a mural for the Big Bend Quilt Trail!

This fall the Museum of Fine Arts will feature a painted “quilt” square in our courtyard, one of many on the Big Bend Quilt Trail. This project, coordinated by the Gadsden Art Center, will showcase numerous quilt inspired murals on display throughout our community. Based on Barn Quilts – large, colorful, geometric designs painted on the side of barns – these works will be part of a self-guided tour that will accompany the Gadsden Art Center’s exhibition From the Cedar Chest: Generations of Southern Quilting.

On Saturday, June 22, visitors to MoFA can help paint our contribution to this project. Participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to attend. Guests can also make their own quilt-inspired buttons and learn about the histories of different quilt patterns.

For more information about the Big Bend Quilt Trail, visit: https://gadsdenarts.org/QuiltApplication

This event is free and open to the public, and visitor parking will be available in any legal space in the Call Street parking garage.
