The Second Annual Blue Jeans and Blazers event is set for Thursday, Oct. 19! Join a few familiar faces and local leaders at the Second Harvest warehouse for an evening of entertainment, food, fun and prizes all for a great cause – giving back to Second Harvest, the area’s food bank that distributes millions of pounds of food every year to hungry families in the 11-county region of the Big Bend.

The event will include yummy barbeque, live music, a silent “foodie” auction and some fun surprises. Single Blue Jeans and Blazers tickets are $40 each and available for purchase on Second Harvest’s website at www.fightinghunger.org. The 4th Annual RUN ELC- Race 4 Readiness will take place Saturday October 21st, 2017 at Tom Brown Park. Our 1 mile event will start at 8:30am and our 5k event will start at 9am. Last year, we had over 400 participants and raised just over $16,000, which all went back to summer education programs for at-risk children in our community. Frenchtown Farmers Market
Oct 21 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

The Frenchtown farmers market will reopen on March 5th at 524 North MLK Blvd. In partnership with the Community Redevelopment Agency, the farmers market represents a first step in plans to develop a local food business incubator on the property.

The project, led by Frenchtown Neighborhood Improvement Association, is an effort to improve opportunity for people of color, women, veterans and students. The goal is to diversify the local economy, both by product and proprietor, in order to create more resilient, engaged, safe and thriving communities.

And what better place to start than Frenchtown.

Opening day will feature live music, guest speakers and host of local vendors with handmade and locally grown products. The Frenchtown market will open every Saturday, from 9am to 1pm throughout the year.

Vendor Information

Vendor inquiries from across the Big Bend region are also welcome. The Frenchtown farmers market is the only food retail opportunity in the area with purchase incentive programs that improve families’ ability to purchase fresh food, and also expand the sales potential for market vendors.

Vendor info sessions will be held Wednesday, February 17th @ 12:30pm and Saturday, February 20th at 3:00pm, at the market’s new location, 524 North MLK Blvd. in Tallahassee.

Haunted Ghost Walks in Tallahassee Oct. 27-29 @ Andrews Downtown
Oct 27 all-day

On Oct. 27th, Oct. 28th and Oct. 29th, seven (7), leisurely 45-minute ghost walking tours depart nightly on the half hour. The first tour begins at 6:30 p.m. The last at 9:30 p.m.

Make your reservation now and let the hauntings begin! Be led by costumed guides telling local legendary ghost stories to places said to be haunted. Meet characters from the past who tell their tales of woe. All tours conclude at Old City Cemetery. You do not go in the cemetery, but get close enough. The tour content is based on actual people and events…only about the darker side of Tallahassee’s history.

Bring your camera! No flashlights. We love babies, but no strollers please.

LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts, celebrating its 50th anniversary, is a Tallahassee nonprofit benefiting artists and art education in our community.
Members of LeMoyne who go on the Haunted Ghost Walk can be involved in a fundraising effort to support LeMoyne’s mission. The host of the Haunted Ghost Walks donates a portion of the member’s ghost tour ticket to LeMoyne. When making your ghost tour reservation, be sure to say that you are a member of LeMoyne and that you support the arts.

She Rocks! Music Festival @ The Loading Dock @ Garages on Gaines
Oct 27 @ 4:00 pm – 11:59 pm
She Rocks! Music Festival @ The Loading Dock @ Garages on Gaines | Tallahassee | Florida | United States

She Rocks! is a music festival fundraiser benefiting PACE Center for Girls Leon. We have some amazing and talented performers lined up for the evening that you’ll be sure to enjoy! We’re excited to announce that Emma Moseley Band, Belle and the Band, Lyrical Lynn, Rachel Hillman Band, Adaptations, Sarah Morrison, and Ambi will all be performing at She Rocks!

It’s an all ages show and that’s not all! There will be tons of other fun activities for you and your friends like tarot readings, chair massages, buti yoga, a tee-shirt tie-dye station (BYO-Tee) AND they’re all FREE for event attendees. We’ll have vendors on-site with cool merchandise for sale. Gaines Street Pies is just next door and will donate a percentage of sales from our attendees back to PACE Leon.

Tickets are on sale now for $12 at www.pacecenter.org/she-rocks.

Here at PACE, we know She Rocks. She Rocks because despite having to take care of her siblings at home, she has 100% attendance at school. And we never let her forget that She Rocks because teachers and counselors are always here to encourage her when she doubts herself or needs a word of encouragement. We’ll be rockin’ out to celebrate how awesome PACE girls are at our newest event – She Rocks! Music Festival – and we hope you’ll join us for a fun night out!

Not only does this event promise to be a great night out, but you’re also supporting PACE students.

How much does that rock?!
