Summer Harvest Festival @ Frenchtown Heritage Hub
Jul 29 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Frenchtown Farmers Market is celebrating summer with a huge yard party! From 10am to 4pm on Saturday, July 29th, we’ll be cooking, canning, grilling, and dancing. Tallahassee summer is hot and sticky, but it’s also a season of delicious North Florida bounty. It’s the time when families gather in the backyard, in parks, with friends, and the local food is fresh and flavorful.

Summer Harvest Fest will feature hourly cooking demos that highlight the stars of summer – tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, peppers, eggplant, watermelon, peaches, good grief! We’ll also host workshops on preserving all that is delicious about summer, reviving food heritage and extending its seasonal benefits. We want to showcase the knowledge and services available in the area that help people reconnect with fresh food, earth, history, and home. Join us!

The festival day includes our Second Annual BBQ Grill-Off, with local grill masters vying for bragging rights and the People’s Choice Award. Festival goers will pay $3 for three BBQ samples, either vegan or meat, then vote on their winner.

Live music and unique offerings by our farmers market vendors round out the party. Call (850) 577-1615, or email michelle@frenchtownheritage.org for information, or to reserve your spot in the program.

Happy Hot Days!

Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of their breakthrough album ‘Leftoverture,’ this is the first time in history, the band will be performing the album in its entirety. The tour will showcase two hours of classic KANSAS music including hit songs, deep cuts, and new songs from their recent album release, ‘The Prelude Implicit.”
Composing a catalogue that includes fifteen studio albums and five live albums, KANSAS has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Best of KANSAS), one platinum live album (Two for the Show), and two one million-selling gold singles, ‘Carry On Wayward Son’ and ‘Dust in the Wind.’ KANSAS appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the ‘70’s and ‘80’s and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. ‘Carry on Wayward Son’ continues to be one of the top five most played songs on classic rock radio, and ‘Dust In the Wind’ has been played on the radio more than three million times!

2016 marks the release of “The Prelude Implicit,” KANSAS’s fifteenth studio album. The wide-ranging progressive rock album is released on InsideOut Music, and marks the band’s first studio album release in 16 years. The band, which is currently comprised of original drummer Phil Ehart, bassist/vocalist Billy Greer, keyboardist David Manion, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist/guitarist David Ragsdale, guitarist Zak Rizvi, and original guitarist Richard Williams, continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences around the world.

Along with constant touring, KANSAS continues to remain a fixture of Classic Rock radio. The band has reached a whole new audience through their unmistakable presence on the popular video games Rock Band and Guitar Hero, and through their songs’ inclusion in various television shows such as ‘Supernatural,’ and ‘South Park,’ and with films ‘Old School,’ and ‘Anchorman.’
