Weaving Our Stories (FAMU) @ FAMU Efferson Student Union | | |

The Florida Council Against Sexual Violence (FCASV) invites you to Weaving Our Stories. Weaving Our Stories is a clothing exhibit that will travel to different Tallahassee sites during Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) April of 2018. The MeToo Movement has created national discussion and allowed people of various backgrounds to come together and share the ways that they too have been impacted by sexual violence. Our display was inspired by The University of Arkansas’ What Were You Wearing? survivor art installation. Our exhibit’s aim is to further unify the experiences of survivors to build momentum for change.
Our exhibit is titled Weaving Our Stories, to symbolize the strength that comes from sharing our stories, creating community, instilling hope, and promoting healing across our entire state. This powerful display features the outfits, or similar outfits to those, worn by survivors during their assaults. These outfits represent various individuals and cities throughout our state, via our certified sexual assault centers. To learn more about sexual violence and what you can do on an individual level, please come out to one of our events and visit us online.

Pandas are beloved around the world, and now they are coming to the big screen in the IMAX® original film “Pandas,” a breathtaking documentary adventure and amazing experience for the whole family. At Chengdu Panda Base in China, scientists are dedicated to protecting the species by breeding adult Giant Pandas in order to introduce cubs into the wild. This film follows one such researcher, whose passion leads her to initiate a new technique inspired by a black bear program in rural New Hampshire. What starts as a cross-culture collaboration becomes a life-changing journey for an American biologist who crosses an ocean to join her; a scientist from Inner Mongolia; and a very curious female cub named Qian Qian, born in captivity. Captured with IMAX® Cameras, join Qian Qian on an exciting new adventure in the mountains of Sichuan as she takes her first steps outside her protected habitat, discovering her true animal nature…even as she faces the challenges of the unknown.
