The Capital Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association is hosting ER for PR, its annual community event, presented by Taproot Creative. Join us for a full-day public relations/marketing-focused workshop designed to help Tallahassee businesses and nonprofits.

9:30-9:45 a.m. – Welcome
9:45-10:30 a.m. – PR 101 – Betsy Couch, APR, Adjunct Professor, Florida State University
10:30-11:30 a.m. – One-on-One Counseling Sessions

Afternoon 
12-1 p.m. – Lunch, silent media auction
1-1:45 p.m. – Achieving Community Outreach Through Earned Media – Tom Flanigan, Community Relations Director for News, WFSU-FM/Florida Public Radio Network

Afternoon Session Details (UPDATE):

The deadline to register for the Capital Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association’s public relations/marketing-focused afternoon workshop designed to help Tallahassee businesses and nonprofits is Friday, August 23 at 5 p.m. This half-day workshop is part of the annual ER for PR event, presented by Taproot Creative, and includes lunch, a live media auction and three back-to-back presentations.

The event will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 12 – 3:15 p.m. at the Florida Sheriffs Association Training Center. Tickets are $50 for nonprofits and $60 for businesses. One ticket allows two people from an organization to enjoy lunch, access to a live media auction and participation in the afternoon presentations.  FPRA members can purchase individual tickets for $20.

Speakers include Tom Flanigan, community relations director for news with WFSU-FM/Florida Public Radio Network, who will discussAchieving Community Outreach Through Earned MediaHeather Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer/Owner, and Lynsie Slachetka, Chief Digital Officer/Owner, Voxy Media Group who talk about Guerrilla Marketing and Duct Tape; and Jim Hunt, vice president of Moore Communications Group presenting Social Media Marketing: Moving from Networking to Enterprise.
