And So It Begins: The 2013/2014 Season of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra
Dress up, or dress down. Come with friends, solo, or with that special someone. But come—join us—and experience the world of live symphonic music. We are here to engage you. The Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra is a community-supported orchestra. Support comes from our loyal patrons, our generous corporate sponsors, and from grants of Leon County and the City of Tallahassee. We invite you to become part of our organization through attending a concert, donating, or simply liking us on Facebook!
Free Open Rehearsal & Children’s Activity Table
Music lovers are invited to observe the dress rehearsal for a performance of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra in Ruby Diamond Concert Hall and watch our new conductor DARKO BUTORAC interact with the orchestra. When available, conductors and artists may speak with to attendees during the break or following the rehearsal.
We invite you to join us 30 minutes prior to the start of the rehearsal for refreshments in the lobby of Ruby Diamond Concert Hall.

Open Rehearsals Kids’ Table
We love kids! We provide a special kids’ table in the lobby of Ruby Diamond Concert Hall at most open rehearsals. The table provides activities and crafts for children to help them learn about the orchestra and music.
Please note that an adult chaperone is required for every student under the age of 14.
Because this is a working rehearsal for the TSO, parents of disruptive children will be politely asked to remove them from the concert hall.
The children’s activity table is sponsored in part by: TallyConnection.com.
Opening Night: Viva Florida 500 & The New World
Join the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra in celebrating past and present: the first concert of our new Music Director and an homage to Florida’s 500th anniversary. Highlights of the program include Frederick Delius’ “Daybreak” from Florida Suite, accompanied by images of our beautiful state taken by photographer Lois Griffin, and Dvorák’s famous New World Symphony. Guest Artists: Silviu Ciulei, Guitar.
For ticket information, please call the FSU Fine Arts Box Office at (850)644-6500 or visit www.tickets.fsu.edu. Viva Florida 500 is generously sponsored by Tallahassee State Bank and Capital Eurocars.
