WHAT: Theatre A La Carte presents the musical Putting It Together WHEN: Performances are October 18-20, 25-27, 2013 (details below) WHERE: Theatre Tallahassee, 1861 Thomasville Road at Betton Road WHO: Theatre A La Carte is North Florida’s Award-Winning Musical Theatre Company, producing contemporary musical theatre in North Florida since 1990. INFO: Theatre A La Carte will open its 24th season with the North Florida premiere of Putting It Together, presenting the works of the foremost musical theatre composer of the 20th century, Stephen Sondheim. The show itself takes place in a penthouse in New York City, revealing the lives and relationships of five people at a party, through the music of Sondheim from a variety of sources, ranging from popular collaborations such as A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, to his most famous works, such as Sunday in The Park With George and A Little Night Music, to music from motion pictures such as Dick Tracy, and everything in between. This version was originally produced at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 1993 starring Julie Andrews, although a popular version that starred Carol Burnett was produced in Los Angeles in 1999.
Performances of Putting It Together will be held at 8:00 p.m. on October 18-19 and 25-26, with matinees at 2:00 p.m. on October 20 and 27, at Theatre Tallahassee, located at the corner of Thomasville and Betton Roads. All seating is reserved. Tickets are $18.00, $16.00 for students and seniors. Group discounts are available.
