Dear Moms & Dads,

This year, spring break for Leon County Schools is March 17th through 21st, with an additional no school day for teacher planning on March 24th.  School breaks can be a great time to let your kids try something new and explore what their areas of interest are outside of their normal routine and responsibilities.  If you’re looking for a camp for your kids to enjoy during their school break, here are details on a few local options.  For what it may be worth to you, you’ll find a stamp of approval,  ♥ , next to listings my own kids or friends’ kids have had great experiences with, and I’m happy to share more or answer questions if you’d like to reach out to me directly at vbdemeter@TallyConnection.com.  Your feedback is welcome too.  Comment below with additional listings and positive or negative remarks about these listings.  Happy Spring Break!

Challenger Learning Center  ♥

Kids in K through 5th grade have fun with science, enjoying a new and exciting theme each day.  Check out the daily activities here.  The cost per day is $40 and includes lunch and materials.  The camp is from 9am to 4pm and extended care is available.  Here are details for what’s happening each day of camp. Growing Room Child Development Centers  ♥

Growing RoomGrowing Room offers Spring Break camp for Kindergarten through 3rd grade.  Their Spring Break campers will enjoy field trips to places such as Skate World, AMC, Firefly Pottery, and MORE!  In addition to the fun field trips, the children will benefit from many in center activities as well.  Call 850-386-4769 or come in NOW to reserve your child’s spot!  Spaces are limited.

The Gathering Place

Gathering Place - spring break adventuresAlthough not traditional “camps”, below are some fun offers of activities for your kids to enjoy at The Gathering Place over spring break.  Get the complete details here.

  • AGES 4-6 – “Wild West Treasure Hunt” – Grab your cowboy hat and boots for an Old West Adventure for child AND parent.  Lunch is included.  Cost is $15+tax for both
  • AGES 7-10 – “African Adventure” – It’s 1932 and Professor Witherspoon has gone missing and his daughter needs your help in finding him.  Lunch is included.  Cost is $12.50+tax (Want to participate with your child? Add $5)
  • AGES 11-16 – “Lost Treasure Hunt” – Act out your character and discover the clues to find a missing fortune.  Dinner included. Cost is $15+tax

Martial Arts Fitness Academy

Martial Arts Fitness AcademyMartial Arts Fitness Academy camps are a great way for kids to learn how to demonstrate courtesy, discipline, integrity, focus, self control, self defense, board breaking and fitness training, all while having fun in a safe environment.  The camp is March 17th through 21st and the cost for the week is $250.  Learn more and register here.

Capital Region YMCA

Capital Region YMCAActivities included in the Capital Region YMCA Day Camp program are as follows: indoor games and outdoor games, arts & crafts, computer lab time, guest speakers, songs and character development.  Camp is available from 7:30am to 5:30pm each day of the school break and extended care is available.  The cost per day is $35 for non-members and $135 for the full week for non-members.  Applications are available at each local YMCA or you can register online.

Tallahassee Museum  ♥

Tallahassee MuseumThe Tallahassee Museum’s day camp programs are delivered by fun, experienced teachers and are complete with nature- and/or history-themed activities, crafts and games. Let your child explore the Museum’s beautiful 52-acre grounds, which includes a collection of animals native to Florida, a Discovery Center to inspire imagination, historic buildings that tell the stories of our region, nature trails, and an 1880s farmstead. Some camps also include zipline experiences on the Museum’s new Tree-to-Tree Adventures courses. Next Level  ♥

Next Level - Spring Break CampOur week long camps combine unparalleled instruction with a fun and exciting atmosphere, which will leave your child with a renewed passion for the game. The camp location is Meridian Park at 4000 North Meridian Road and camp is daily from 9am to 4:30pm, March 17th through 21st.  This camp is for kids age 5 to 13.  The cost of camp is $195, with an early registration discounted rate of $150 for those registered by February 28th.  Camp includes: Hitting Instruction, Pitching Instruction, Infield/Outfield Instruction Next Level Instruction, and Daily Games.  Contact Next Level at 850.765.0364 or click here to register now.

MoLab  ♥

MoLabCamp Spark – Igniting Knowledge! sessions are offered when students in Leon County are on school breaks for the winter holiday, spring break, and throughout the summer. The camp program is offered to 4 year old students through the 8th grade. Daily sessions are provided during spring break.  Each day will offer campers the opportunity to explore science through creative play, experimentation, and inquiry based learning experiences. The sessions present age appropriate curriculum and are designed to provide students with engaging educational activities that are both informative and entertaining. MoLab, Inc.’s camp program makes science fun and links Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) concepts to the real-world. Campers explore the art of discovery!  Daily sessions of Spring Camp Spark will take place on March 17 – 21 and March 24, 2014. ARTS AfterSchool

Arts AfterschoolDuring Spring Break Camp your children will enjoy all the classes regularly offered at ARTS in a fresh and fun environment. Our camp kids rotate through a variety of classes such as art, guitar, violin, music, piano, jazz, ballet, hip hop, freeze dance, drama, karate, and sewing with a fun mix of pottery painting, pretend play, puzzle making, lego building, and other fun group activities sandwiched inbetween. We ask that you send your children with a packed lunch and extra snacks as they are sure to be very active through out the day!  We welcome campers (ages 4 – 12 years old) for the full week or on the drop-in basis at $47 per day!  Feel free to complete the camp registration form or call, (850) 878-ARTS (2787), for further questions.

Cookies & Tea for Me!  ♥

Frozen - spring break campThis year our spring break camp will feature Disney’s hit movie FROZEN!  A Glitz n’ Dance event week offered jointly by Ni’Cole’s Performing Arts and Cookies & Tea for Me!  The camp is Monday, March 17 through Thursday, March 20, from 9a.m. to 1:30p.m. and includes crafts, activities and a performance inspired by the movie, from children ages 3 to 11.  Pizza lunch and snacks will be provided on performance day (Thursday).  The cost is $150 per girl.  Register for this camp and view information about other upcoming events and camps as well, here.

International Gold Gymnastics  ♥

IGGInternational Gold Gymnastics invites your child to join us for 6 exciting days of  Spring Break Camp. Our camp provides daily gymnastics instruction, arts & crafts, field trips, and of course, games!  Here’s the daily schedule:

Firefly Pottery  ♥

Firefly PotteryWe will provide awesome artistic projects throughout the day!  The variety of projects your child will have the opportunity to create here is almost endless.  We provide: pottery, mosaics, glass, canvas and crafts in general.  A week of camp from 9am to 3pm, March 17th through 21st for $225, as well as a day camp on March 24th from 9am to 3pm for $45.  Find the camp registration form here and feel free to call us at 850.727.4986 for questions.

LeMoyne Center for Visual Arts

LeMoyne Spring Break CampTake a week to explore the wonderful world of movies. You will get to explore how art plays a major role in your favorite movies. You will create your very own characters, stories, props, and sets. At the end of the week, we will have a special movie premiere party. Students will rotate through four different classes throughout the day, with a break between each. Perfect way to creatively spend your Spring Break!  Learn more and register here.   

Junior Golf Camp  ♥

Southwood Golf CourseThe fun starts here!  Spring Break Junior Golf Camp is offered March 17th through March 20th from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm (drop off any time after 7:45; pick up no later than 1:00).  The cost of the camp is $40 per day or $120 for all four days of camp.  Campers will be divided by age in to groups as follows: 5-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15.

Mason’s School of Music, Dance & Arts Afterschool  ♥

FrozenArts Adventures Camp – “Frozen” – In the Arts Adventures Music Camps, students participate in a variety of activities designed to teach drama, art, music and dance and culminate with a production on Friday. The camp’s activities and show are based on the “Frozen” theme and each student will learn lines, dances, songs and help make the backdrops for the show.  Campers need to bring a lunch and two snacks Monday through Thursday. A pizza lunch is provided on Friday.
