We’re in for a treat Tallahassee. The next performance of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra’s 2013/2014 season, Romantic Jewels, will take place Saturday, March 8th. Not only can you enjoy an evening of beautiful music, but earlier that same day you can look behind the curtain for an insider’s view (and listen) during the FREE open rehearsal. Before the last concert, the open rehearsal had record attendance. Let’s make the most of this opportunity again next Saturday Tallahassee, supporting our local musicians.
Schumann’s Cello Concerto and Mendelssohn’s “Scottish Symphony” are the two great, romantic jewels presented on this concert. Internationally celebrated cellist Colin Carr will join the TSO in a performance of this expressive and sublime work. Mendelssohn penned his “Scottish” Symphony, widely considered his finest, after a visit to the ruined Holyrood Chapel in Edinburgh. The TSO welcomes guest conductor David Danzmayr, currently Music Director of the Illinois Philharmonic and ProMusica Chamber Orchestra.

Open Rehearsals Kids’ Table
We love kids! We provide a special kids’ table in the lobby of Ruby Diamond Concert Hall at most open rehearsals. The table provides activities and crafts for children to help them learn about the orchestra and music.
Please note that an adult chaperone is required for every student under the age of 14.
Because this is a working rehearsal for the TSO, parents of disruptive children will be politely asked to remove them from the concert hall.
