Tallahassee Staycation Itinerary

If you’re staying in town for the break and would like some staycation ideas, Tallahassee does not disappoint.  Here’s a list to help you start planning a week of fun with kids on break from school…

Visit the Tallahassee Museum — Zipline through the trees and say hello to the Sun Bears.  Learn More.

Sweet Treats — When it’s time for a sweet treat find some yum and fun in the same place at The Cake Shop where kiddos can enjoy the big checkers board and kid-size tables and chairs, and at Lofty Pursuits where a Nano Cone is just $1 and games and home made candy bring out the kid in all of us.

Run Free & Explore at Mission San Luis —  Hear the ring of the blacksmith’s hammer, smell traditional foods being cooked over an open fire, and walk the plaza where the Apalachees played their traditional ball games.  Pet friendly.  Learn More.

Get Outdoors — At Cascades Park endless fun awaits you.  A spin around Lake Ella is always fun, and don’t forget to pop in to the shops, and come out for Food Truck Thursday.  Not to mention the huge list of Parks & Trails and Playgrounds Tallahassee is famous for.  Discover your new favorite outdoor space this week.

Kids Eat Free — It’s a break week right? Skip dinner once or twice or maybe even every night.  No worries, kids eat free somewhere every day!

Build a Birdhouse — Stop in to Native Nurseries and pick up a birdhouse build kit to work on during the week.  Spring is a great time of year to add a birdhouse to your backyard.
