“Alexa Kleinbard’s spectacularly beautiful work has focused on the natural world for over 30 years, addressing the issues surrounding the degradation and destructiion of our natural environment,” says Cynthia Hollis, guest curator of the upcoming exhibition, “Alexa Kleinbard:Twilight in the Garden.”

Kleinbard has always taken the position that we as humans are not separate from our environment, but rather something w are in and of. In this exhibition, Kleinbard’s work ranges from oil on shaped birchwood, to oil stick and graphite drawings on paper, to intricate collaged animals in ink, paint, and pencil, all presenting despair and hope with a lyricism and lushness of imagery.
