Square Dance Lessons: Last chance to join us
1400 N Monroe St
Tallahassee, FL 32303
Learn to square dance! Square dancing is a delightfully energetic activity set to great music, requiring lessons to learn the steps. You’ll be laughing and want to keep on dancing. Lessons begin Monday June 14 from 6 to 8 pm at the Tallahassee Senior Center: second floor ballroom. $2.50 per person per lesson. Come and see how much fun square dancing is! Show up in comfortable clothes, ready to dance! No fancy footwork is required. Instead, you walk quickly in time with the music as you shape moving formations with the other dancers in your square – following the caller’s instructions. It is not difficult to learn; and you don’t have to be graceful. The challenge is in not knowing what will come next; the next step will be “called” out to you. Classes are conducted by Elmer Sheffield, who has been teaching square dance for over 40 years and is one of the best known and respected callers in the country.
