Florida Historic Capitol Museum’s Collections Conversations featuring the State Archives of Florida @ Online
Oct 27 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Every collecting museum or archive holds more objects than can be displayed at any one time. Have you ever wondered what might be behind the locked doors of a museum’s storage area? Join the Historic Capitol Museum as we unbox a few items from our own collections and invite other institutions to share their historic objects and stories with our virtual guests. In recognition of American Archives Month and the upcoming election, this conversation will look back at past elections in Florida. Get to know the historic candidates through their campaign materials and strategies. This presentation will take place on Zoom and feature Josh Goodman from the State Archives of Florida. Register to attend here.

Spooky Springs @ Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park - Virtual
Oct 31 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Tales, sounds and images of things that go bump in the night. Join us for the scariest night at the spring… of ghosts, creatures and people past…. Watch the Specter of Wakulla Spring appear to tell tales of ghosts uncovered that have haunted guests over time at the Lodge. See Quincee Messersmith transform into Ed Ball’s wife Ruth, spooked at the haunted messages she receives. What really happened in Guest Room 23?! Spooky Springs is a 20-minute romp into the strange and bizarre. Followed by discussion with historian Madeleine Carr. A special treat for Halloween this year! Join us… If you dare!!
This FREE presentation, part of the “For the Springs Virtual Speaker and Performance Series” is a monthly program providing educational entertainment for the general public, a way for people to connect with others in a world of pandemic restrictions, and as an alternate way to enjoy the natural beauty of Wakulla Spring in these challenging times. Register online at the Friends website, WakullaSprings.org to receive Zoom login credentials to attend this and other upcoming programs in the virtual series.
