Tallahassee Genealogical Society monthly meeting – FL Pioneer Descendant Certif. Program @ LeRoy Collins Public Library
Feb 23 @ 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm

At this month’s meeting Ms. Pat Rand will be presenting Pioneer certificates to descendants of the Perkins family, who settled in Leon County in 1840. She will speak about the El Destino project briefly, and then present a program on the Florida Pioneer Descendant Certificate program and the Pioneer database.
Her current project is in cooperation with the Library of Florida History in Cocoa Village, which holds plantation records for the El Destino Plantation outside Tallahassee. Volunteers are scanning the documents and journals, transcribing them, and will be indexing them for slave names.
The meeting will be held in Program Room A of the downtown public library, 200 W. Park Ave. Sharing time is at 1:30pm and the meeting starts at 2pm.
