The Allison Christmas Spectacular 2019! @ The Allison Christmas Spectacular
Dec 10 2019 @ 6:00 pm – Jan 6 2020 @ 10:00 pm

The Allison Christmas Spectacular is celebrating 12 years! This year, The Allison Christmas Spectacular is receiving a complete overhaul to include 100% LED lights! This will help make the display be bolder and brighter than ever before!

Returning this year are 3 mega trees, 12 mini trees, 14 leaping arches, 102.5 FM WACS Radio, hundreds of strobes, and all of our previously featured dancing sequences. We are again featuring over 200,000 lights, dancing to 7 songs this year! We have two NEW dancing sequences debuting this year: Selah’s “Little Drummer Boy” and an updated version of Michael W. Smith’s “Christmas Angels!”

There is no charge to come see the lights, and the display is a drive-by. The lights will be displayed Thanksgiving through New Year’s from 6-10 pm nightly. We will be hiring a deputy to be on duty each night this year, and we will again be taking donations to help cover the deputy fees.

Feel free to check out and like our Facebook page to receive updates regarding The Allison Christmas Spectacular! Be sure to also visit our official website at allisonchristmasspectacular.com. We hope you and your family and friends are able to come by for our biggest and brightest year ever!

APOLLO 11: First Steps Edition Now Playing @ Challenger Learning Center
Dec 13 – Dec 31 all-day

Experience the “out-of-this-world” moment (literally) when the United States of America achieved exploration greatness with APOLLO 11: First Steps Edition. Boasting “how far and how fast we have come,” as a nation, during a time where traveling to the moon was unthinkable, the brilliantly curated film pilots the audience through the lunar landing journey of avid preparation, anxious lift off and triumphant return. APOLLO 11 was made specifically for a giant screen at museums and science centers, offering an exclusive take into “the greatest and most complex exploration in Man’s history.”
Featuring a newly-discovered trove of never-before-seen 70 mm footage and more than 11,000 hours of uncatalogued audio recordings, the film offers a distinctive feature from the documentary genre, without narration. Here, the alluring nature of IMAX and unclassified audio recordings speak for themselves, even in its moments of restless silence. APOLLO 11 showcases the raw reality of humanity’s greatest achievements as the first to put men on the moon.
The 47 minute IMAX experience, APOLLO 11: First Steps Edition, excites family and friends of all ages to experience an American triumph at an affordable price. Offering tickets between $6-8, purchases support the Challenger Learning Center’s community outreach and educational programming. APOLLO 11: First Steps Edition is sponsored locally in part through the Council on Culture and Arts’ Cultural Grant Program, funded by the City of Tallahassee and Leon County.
